Parr focuses his simplistic childlike artwork and declarative sentences on gratitude for the pleasures and wonders of a kid’s on a regular basis life.

Utilizing photos of each youngsters and animals, every colourful scene in daring major colours declaims a purpose to be grateful. “I’m grateful for my hair as a result of it makes me distinctive” exhibits a yellow-faced baby with a wild purple hairstyle, indicating shallowness. An elephant with massive pink ears fortunately exclaims, “I’m grateful for my ears as a result of they let me hear phrases like ‘I like you.’ ” Humor is interjected with, “I’m grateful for underwear as a result of I prefer to put on it on my head.” (Mother and father will hope that it’s clear, however potty-humor–loving youngsters most likely gained’t care.) Youngsters are inspired to be glad about ft, music, faculty, holidays and the library, “as a result of it’s crammed with countless adventures,” amongst different issues. The e-book’s cheery, upbeat message is clearly meant to encourage optimistic gratitude; Parr exhorts youngsters to “keep in mind some [things to be thankful for] every single day.”

Uncomplicated and worthwhile for any age.
